Retreat House
The Retreat House in Svatá Hora was built on the southern slope of the hill in 1936 - 1939 as a school
building for the Boys´ Choir of Svatá Hora, as a flat for the choirmaster and last but not least there was provided accommodation and meals for those participating in the spiritual exercises. However, the House had served its original purpose only for few months, because it was requisitioned by the Nazis as a tuberculosis clinic. During the communist time it initially housed a sanatorium for those suffering from pulmonary illnesses, then it served as a hospital for the chronically ill. In September 1990 the House was returned to the Church.
Nowadays, participants in the spiritual exercises stay in the House. Therefore, the accommodation of pilgrims, groups or individuals is possible only in case the House is not totally occupied.
