The Svatá Hora Foundation 

The Svatá Hora Foundation is a charitable, non-profit, philanthropic, non-political, benevolent civic association.
The object of its activities is the safeguarding of the spiritual substance of Svatá Hora, the gathering of donations for the repair and maintenance of the Basilica and all the buildings accessible to pilgrims, the support of promotional, agency and publishing activities in the religious and moral spheres, and the creation of circumstances favourable to the welcome of pilgrims, and other activities. Information on the membership of this civic association is available from the Foundation upon request. Pursuant to its Charter, any physical person over the age of 18 or any legal person may become a member. Membership entails a covenant to make donations to the Foundation.The Foundation was established in 1921. By the Second World War it had more than 20,000 members. Thanks to its endeavours it has been possible to repair the entire complex of buildings at Svatá Hora, and to lay out the surrounding areas as you see it today. During the Communist era, the Foundation could of course not perform its functions. The Foundation was reconstituted in 1990, initially as an informal association of the friends of Svatá Hora.The Foundation's current legal status goes back to 2000, when it was registered as a civic association. The Svatá Hora Foundation's Pilgrimage and its annual members' meeting traditionally take place on the last Saturday in May.
