Organists
Currently there are six organists who play regularly in the Basilica of Svatá Hora, of whom two are professionals and four accomplished amateurs. The reason for having six organists is that the minimum number of Masses in a given week is 29 (with five Masses on Sundays and four Masses on each of the other six days of the week). It is therefore impossible for one organist to perform at all Masses.
The Organists' duties are divided up as follows. There is a salaried full-time organist's position which also includes the duties of choirmaster and head organist occupied by Pavel Šmolík. He is supported by the other organists who usually play once or twice a week, so that all Masses are catered for evenly. Our full-time organist is entitled to one day off a week, and this is one of the reasons why Masses on one day during the week are without organ accompaniment, provided that the given day is not a feast day or holiday. The Church Choir is regularly accompanied by either the choirmaster and head organist himself, or by his wife, Miloslava Šmolíková, who has similar qualifications to those of her husband.
Pavel Šmolík (*1979)
Pavel Šmolík has worked at Svatá Hora since 2001 as organist, choirmaster and choir leader. He was born in Pilzen and studied the organ at the České Budějovice Conservatory with Professor Jitka Chaloupková, and conducting at Prague's Academy of the Musical Arts. On top of his activities in Svatá Hora, he teaches organ improvisation, Gregorian chant and conducting at the Conservatory in České Budějovice. He is also an active composer of church music. As well as the Svatá Hora Church Choir, he leads the Dr. Vladimír Vepřek Mixed Choir in Příbram.

Marie Hlaváčková (*1969)
Marie Hlaváčková completed her basic musical education at the People's College of the Arts (LŠU) in Příbram, and in autumn of that year began her organ studies with Father Karel Bříza. Nowadays she very happily helps out in the Basilica of Svatá Hora when her timetable permits, most often on weekdays.
Jana Krmášková (d.o.b.1952)
A native of Příbram, Jana Krmášková is a draughtswoman. Initially she studied violin at the People's College of the Arts (LŠU) in Příbram. In 1970 she began studying the organ with Father Karel Bříza. She began playing the organ at Svatá Hora in 1973. For a time she also played at Březové Hory. She was then a member of the Svatá Hora Church Choir along with her daughters from 1991 to 2001. Mrs Krmášková has been a regular Svatá Hora organist since 1991 and has an organ in her home, which her father built together with the help of Father Karel Bříza.
Marie Šochová
After several years' study at the Basic School of the Arts (ZUŠ) in Dobříš (where she studied flute and piano), Marie Šochová began taking organ lessons with Father Karel Bříza. She assists at Svatá Hora only occasionally. She nonetheless says that Svatá Hora repeatedly offers her the opportunity to appreciate spirituality, beauty, divine love and God's eternal presence.
Ludmila Štefaniková
Ludmila Štefaniková acquired the rudiments of organ-playing in 1962 with Father František Šmejkal, who at that time was working on the construction of the Orlice dam. When he left for the convent of Leontýn u Rokycan, she continued her studies during occasional meetings with her uncle, Father Alois Bareš from Ústí nad Labem. Then, in 1969 she met Father Karel Bříza at Svatá Hora. She continues to play the organ at Svatá Hora, but now she also plays in many other churches, especially in and around Příbram.
Miloslava Šmolíková (d.o.b. 1981)
Miloslava Šmolíková comes from Vimperk in the šumava, where she was baptised in 1992, when she began to be deeply involved in the musical life of her local church. Having learnt the piano as a child, she acquired the basics of organ-playing from a local organist, Růžena Rašková. After grammar school, she graduated from the Organ Department of the České Budějovice Conservatory (where her teacher was Professor Miroslava Svobodová). At the same time, she graduated in German and music from Teaching Faculty of Jihočeská Univerzita. In 2002 she married Pavel Šmolík and, now on maternity leave, she helps out as an organist at Svatá Hora.
